Webcast Metrics

The Webcast Metrics streaming measurement service is the industry standard for online audio consumption data, providing an enhanced service to eligible publishers which have been certified to meet a broader set of technical and operational requirements and which are subject to third-party audit. Webcast Metrics publishers receive access to an expanded set of metrics that have been validated through an enhanced process, including audio consumption by daypart, device type, geography, distribution platform, audience detail, and more.

Key Metrics

Session Starts (SS)

The number of different requests for streams (i.e., stream requests) with a duration of at least one minute in total within the reported time period.

Active Sessions (AS)

Number of sessions that were active, with a duration of at least one minute in total and any duration within the reported time period.

Total Listening Hours (TLH)

The total number of hours that the station/publisher has streamed during sessions with a duration of at least one minute in total within the reported time period.

Average Active Sessions (AAS)

The Total Listening Hours (TLH) divided by hours in the reported time period.

Average Quarter Hour (AQH)

The average number of listeners within an MSA with at least 5 minutes of listening within a 15-minute time period.

CUME

The number of unique listeners within the market for at least five total minutes.

Webcast Metrics Local is a market-specific version of the Webcast Metrics audience measurement platform, providing credible, third-party data that enables agencies and advertisers to evaluate online audiences at the local level.

The Total Listening Hours (TLH) divided by hours in the reported time period.

CUME

The number of unique listeners within the market for at least five total minutes.

Session Starts (SS)

The total number of sessions with a minimum duration of one minute in length that were started within the reported time period. Any/all invalid sessions are omitted.

Total Listening Hours (TLH)

The Total Listening Hours (TLH) divided by hours in the reported time period.

Our Podcast Metrics measurement service is built in accordance with the IAB’s Podcast Technical Measurement Guidelines, providing accurate and insightful data into the consumption of your podcast content. Podcast Metrics enables you to view metrics by date range, geography, device, podcast name, episode title, and more. Through lineups, podcasts can be aggregated to pull unique metrics with the ability to deduplicate audiences. Audience metrics via Demos+ provide person-level demographic, sociographic, media behavior and purchase intent propensities.

Downloads (Net)

The number of unique files that were downloaded, including both partial & complete downloads.

Index

The relative difference of an audience’s composition within a particular audience characteristic compared to the average audience size in the podcast universe or overall US.

Listeners (Net)

The number of individual users that downloaded content for either immediate or future consumption.

Downloaded Hours (Net)

The number of hours of podcast content that were downloaded, as a sum of the valid Downloads. This includes both partial & complete downloads.
